The Role of Baukultur within Post-Disaster Reconstruction - On the Foundation of the “School of Reconstruction” in Accumoli

The internationally renowned trade journal "KGS Forum" is published by the Department of Cultural Property Protection of the Federal Office for Civil Protection (BABS) of the Swiss Confederation. The current issue is devoted to the topic "Building culture and cultural property protection" (No. 34/2020). From page 24, Christian Hanus describes the objectives, structure and activities of the Scuola di ricostruzione di Accumoli. Reference is also made to the inauguration ceremony on November 12, 2019.

"Building culture" refers to the past, present and future according to the strategy, which is developed jointly by 15 federal agencies under the leadership of the Federal Office of Culture (BAK). It relates to various areas that should increasingly work together across the department's often too narrow boundaries. In the action plan for the legislative period 2020 to 2023, the BABS (Department of Cultural Property Protection) has agreed to produce a key issue on the subject. Several actors in Switzerland should have their say, but the ideas, aim and activities as well as the status of the work in neighboring countries should also be presented. The aim of the booklet is also to show, in the form of an interim report, where Switzerland and the neighboring countries are at the moment so that on this basis (jointly) future steps in the area can be planned and implemented accordingly.
